how to get involved:
Our REGA September Showcasical: Value Point, is open to actors who have already taken a class or a workshop with REGA.
FORMAT

Actors will need to enroll in REGA's Advanced Acting class, taught by REGA guest teaching artist, Frank Mihelich. The 6-week class begins on August 9, and runs every Tuesday through September 13 from 6:00-8:30PM EST. All classes will be held at Times of Refreshing Christian Center, NY (TORCC-NY) at 209 West 40th Street, New York, NY 10018.

The class will begin with each student studying a monologue selected for them by the instructor.

Then students will receive original scenes written with them in mind to learn for the showcase. This material will be worked on in class with the instructor for the remaining weeks.

Students must attend a run-through of the showcasical on Wednesday, 9/14, and a dress rehearsal on Thursday, 9/15. The performance will be on Friday, 9/16, exact time TBD, at TORCC-NY.
COST
The entire package of the acting class, plus the experience of performing original work under the direction of professional artists for a live audience is $250/student.

Actors
Writers
Our REGA September Showcasical: Value Point, is open to students wishing to study dramatic writing in a collaborative format. Students will be selected based on submitted writing samples.
FORMAT

Writing students will meet together with once a week, at first on zoom, and then in-person with actors on Thursday evenings, beginning 8/4.

Week 1: A general story outline will be provided by REGA Artistic Director, Virginia Pike. Students will be invited to share ideas for the story, and then each one will be tasked with writing specific scenes, based on the actors enrolled in REGA's Advanced Acting class.

Weeks 2-4: Writing students will bring their scene drafts to class and receive feedback on one another's scenes from the other students, and from the instructor.

Weeks 5-6: Writing students will attend acting rehearsals on Tuesday, 8/30, and Wednesday, 9/7. Final drafts of all scenes must be completed by 97. Writing students are welcome, but not required to attend additional rehearsals: 9/13, 9/14, and dress rehearsal on 9/15

Writers will be required to attend performance on 9/16
COST
The entire package of the writing workshops, plus the experience of working with actors under the direction of professional artists and seeing the work performed for a live audience is $250/student.

All interested writing students must email us at info@regaarts.com and send a writing sample of 3-5 pages from a scene written for stage or screen. If selected, a link for payment and registration will be sent directly to each student.
Singers
Our REGA September Showcasical: Value Point, is open to past and current voice students of Virginia Hart Pike.
FORMAT

Each voice student will choose a song with Vocal Instructor, Virginia Pike, that relates to the theme of the Showcasical.

Each voice student is required to schedule 4-6 private lessons with the instructor

Each voice student is required to attend the run-through rehearsal on Wednesday, 9/14, the dress rehearsal on Thursday, 9/15, and the performance on Friday, 9/16
